How it started?

In my journal on 3/3/03 I wrote that I wanted to start a company called “Responding Physics”. The idea was that life was a response to God. The name didn't’t stave off the tides of self-criticism. But the idea stuck and grew in me that God is the master engineer. Today we exalt engineering as our savior. And yet one reading of the book of Job will humble any engineer about what he really knows. A little bit later I wrote in my journal that life is art, art is creative creating, art is chosen movement, art is chosen change, and art is diversity. Drive down to Big Sur in the middle of a clear moonless night, pull off to the side of the road on highway 1 where there are no lights at all for miles. Look up at the Milky Way and tell me who is the Master Artist.

On 8/1/03 I had this idea of how we have these internal symphony of rhythms. Your thoughts, your heartbeat, your breathing. All flowing and fluctuating to your rhythm. Our external rhythms. being our spoken words and our actions.

These rhythms. have crescendos and intros and finale’s, and building moments of triumph and tragedy. Who is the conductor of all this? Are we?
Struggling to know what I can do with God I stumbled across this verse,Ephesians 3:20 Now glory be to God! By his mighty power at work within us, he is able to accomplish infinitely more than we would ever dare to ask or hope.

Rejoicing that God works within us on 8/8/2003 I registered this site. Not knowing what exactly I’m doing or where I’m going I can still praise God that he can use us where we are and whatever we are doing.

I love to design and invent things. Whether those things are poems, programs, paintings, performances, special effects, graphics, photos, or bike parts I give all the creative juice glory to God because he gave me those desires, skills, and gifts. It is my privilege to be a orchestra musician in God’s Symphony of the universe, God’s Symphony of Energy and light.

Tonight, over a year later I ran across this from Dallas Willard, which made me stop and finally compose this letter to explain what I was thinking with the name “Symphonic Energy”. Here is what I read tonight. 9/26/04 .

from “THE DIVINE CONSPIRACY” pg 95 -- Master of Molecules

At the literally mundane level, Jesus knew how to transform the molecular structure of water to make it wine. That knowledge also allowed him to take a few pieces of bread and some little fish and feed thousands of people. He could create matter from the energy he knew how to access from "the heavens," right where he was.

It cannot be surprising that the feeding of the thousands led the crowds to try to force him to be their king. Surely one who could play on the energy/matter equation like that could do anything. Turn gravel into gold and pay off the national debt! Do you think he could get elected president or prime minister today?

He knew how to transform the tissues of the human body from sickness to health and from death to life. He knew how to suspend gravity, interrupt weather patterns, and eliminate unfruitful trees without saw or ax. He only needed a word. Surely he must be amused at what Nobel prizes are awarded for today.

In the ethical domain he brought an understanding of life that has influenced world thought more than any other. We shall see what this means in chapters to follow. And one of the greatest testimonies to his intelligence is surely that he knew how to enter physical death, actually to die, and then live on beyond death. He seized death by the throat and defeated it. Forget cryonics!

Death was not something others imposed on him. He explained to his followers in the moment of crisis that he could at any time call for 72,000 angels to do whatever he wanted. A mid-sized angel or two would surely have been enough to take care of those who thought they were capturing and killing him. He plainly said, "Nobody takes my life! I give it up by choice. I am in position to lay it down, and I am in position to resume it. My father and I have worked all this out" (John 10:18 ).

All these things show Jesus' cognitive and practical mastery of every phase of reality: physical, moral, and spiritual. He is Master only because he is Maestro. "Jesus is Lord" can mean little in practice for anyone who has to hesitate before saying, "Jesus is smart."

He is not just nice, he is brilliant. He is the smartest man who ever lived. He is now supervising the entire course of world history (Rev. 1:5) while simultaneously preparing the rest of the universe for our future role in it (John 14:2). He always has the best information on everything and certainly also on the things that matter most in human life.

I love that … Jesus is Maestro….. of EVERYTHING !
